HEY GUYS GOOD MORNING


HAD A THOUGHT I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE WITH YA'LL. IVE BEEN DOING THIS A WHILE AND HAVEN'T THOUGHT TO SHARE IT. I HAVE BEEN DOWNLOADING A LOT OF "HOW TO VIDEOS" FROM YOU TUBE OR ANY OTHER PLACE ON THE NET TO AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. I WAS THINKING THAT KNOWLEDGE IS POWER, ESPECIALLY IN A CASE WERE NO ACCESS TO THE NET. I HAVE MAYBE A HUNDRED VIDEOS, P.A.W, SURVIVAL, ENERGY SOURCE, EMERGENCY MEDICINE, ETC ETC. MY THINKING IS THAT I CAN POWER A LAPTOP PRETTY EASY IF I NEED TO IF I HAVE NO ELE. IT DOESNT TAKE MUCH, AND THE WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE THAT I WOULD HAVE AT MY FINGER TIPS IN A BAD SITUATION IS INVALUABLE. I USE THE PROGRAM REAL PLAYER. ITS EAST TO USE AND I GET TO KEEP ALL THIS INFO! JUST THINK WHAT THAT WOULD BE WORTH IN A EOTWAWKI SITUATION!:D

i download how to's as well..right from my camera to my hardrive.............



I think having some info stored on certain subjects is good. But the real thing would to practice/do what is in the movies prior to an event, OR to find that same info in print form.....
Batts and power only last so long.......knowing how to do something is forever.

good idea on the hard copy stuff didnt think about that..and i try to see if i can do the things in the video to make sure i can. next project is to build solar panel and see how long it takes to charge 12 volt batt. and what/how long i can run off it

Nothing beats hard knowledge aka head knowledge.

For me the toughest stuff is usually mechanical type things. I still have to do something with my hands a half dozen or more times before I begin to get it (like a complex choke, repairs to rifles, auto mechanics) Then 99% of the time it's there forever. But the time to learn something mechanical for me, is probably longer than others.

I would say upload them to the Members section. ;)

I personally like to watch the videos a couple of times before trying something unless I already have a pretty good idea then I'll wing it.

*** During the video a person could take notes, if they are of the mind to or have the initiative to do that, and then they would have the notes as long as the paper lasted or until they lost them. I could be over simplifying it though. Either way its always good to have the info on paper as a backup.

Watch these and learn now and practice. But a reference library in print will be worth much in a long term power outage!

I use YouTube downloader it is free, it works, what you should do if you really want to keep it, is convert the .flv to what ever media a dvd uses. Then you could have them and play them on a compter or dvd.
