Hey guys. Came across this link of a "60 minutes" interview.

It is so sad how people do NOT understand, legacy costs (union forced contracts) is bankrupting America. My father is one of them, hate to say, retired Chrysler worker. I was in shock when I learned he got paid over $30 an hour to inspect the assembly (three locations) of the bumpers of the Dodge Omni (how many of you remember that car, lol)... Don't get me wrong, I love my father deeply, but when his retirement check was higher than my active duty military check, something is wrong...

Unfortunately, the labor unions have almost killed the golden goose. Auto workers continued to demand and demand when U.S. auto sales were high. As the prices of cars rose, people turned to the cheaper alternative - japanese cars, and we all know the rest of the story. What is amazing, is that knowing the financial condition of the economy, the unions continue to demand increases.

My sister is a teacher and I hope she can earn the most she can, but even she agrees that the demands of some teacher's unions are excessive and unfair to students. NJ comes to mind. Why are we paying our public service employees so much in benefits and pensions? They make more that retired military and other professionals.

Unions are ruining the country.

Yep, saw it. She says 50-100 muni's going belly up this year. Even if they are "smaller" cities, there will be many people without pensions. States continue to borrow to continue to pay pension plans and entitlement programs. That, I believe, will only delay the pain, not eliminate it.
