He posted numerous facts that when you look at it from outside the box, it is pretty darn scary...

Just thought I would share it with my prepper buddies.

(warning, its a pretty long presentation and he does try to sell you something at the end-best thing to do is to stop watching when he starts the sales pitch part)

I have read some of his comments on other sites/blogs. I watched the video and he does seem to document history. Take the time and view it, but as Klayton says expect a sales pitch at the end. Just because he has a sales pitch doesn't make the data he present untrue.

Let me save anyone else this agony. America is screwed, get ready...(Buy food, clean water, guns, ammo, etc.) He does want you to buy gold, I think its a bad investment.

I did buy some silver early on. I thought about gold, but I couldn't see the sense of it. How are you gonna get change from your one-ounce gold piece? You want to trade an ounce of gold for a chicken or two? I don't think so. I like Rawles' idea better, where you save your pre-64 dimes and quarters. They're 90% silver and would be worth much more than face value. Also, I think sitting on a boatload of gold or silver would not be a good thing to do when there are hordes of psychos running around.

Well, I guess it all depends on how the situation will be.
If SHTF suddenly, forget all your gold and silver.
If first there are months or years of hyperinflation and things just getting worse and worse over time, then they'll do you good.

I expect the second option, but not sure, so frankly, can't do anything wrong with survival-prepping, but could do wrong with stocking up on the metals.

Two days I got a buffalo nickel as change at the Home Depot. Unfortunately the date is so worn it's unreadable. Anyway, it was a great find, even if it doesn't contain silver. If coinage is too expensive, consider old silver flatware and tableware from antique stores. The percentage of silver is very high. Imagine, you could be trading forks for food.

My EX-broker always told me to diversify. That was the only advice I took from him. His picks of what "I needed" was not in line with what I wanted. Here is some of my disversification (is that a word?).

My precious metals I'm invested in, not in any particular order...
Gold
Silver
Lead
Nickel
Copper

I also invest in other tangibles...
Corn
Rice
Bean
Bandaids
Real Estate
etc.

It's too late for anything but the nickles. Buy all the other stuff yer gonna need first. Handtools, gloves by the dozen, lots of quality footwear and outdoor clothing, all the stuff the rest of the refugees are gonna try to buy with their gold and silver.

The only precious metals to continue buying are lead, copper, brass and tungsten.

I heard a really good argument about this. The commentator, (I don't remember who it was) said that if the govt. started confiscating, they could take your gold, but they wouldn't take your beans and rice. Also, he made the comment that you can't eat gold and silver. Something to think about?

There is a level of preparedness that would include both silver and gold. However; I am not at that level at this time. With the way the prices on pm's are increasing, gas also, I probably will never catch up. I had much rather invest in other tangibles such as food, water, and a means to procure and protect it.
