  • An alternative for old folks

May need this myself in the not so distant future.

The Association of Mature American Citizens (AMAC), in collaboration with its advocacy affiliate AMAC Action, is fully engaged in a broad range of challenges to the inalienable rights of all Americans to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as protected and guaranteed by our Constitution and the Bill of Rights. AMAC Action, directly represents […]

Evidently AARP is a majorly socialist leaning organization, big lib supporter, against guns, etc. I saw a documentary where that group parachuted into and took over a small Colorado town. Only a small group of scrappy youngsters were able to fend them off and free us Gen X'ers from the detention camp.

This placed linked sounds like the conservative version of the old folks group.

May want to check it out.

We both got AARP memberships, only to access a really good Medicare Advantage plan. Other than that, we have nothing to do with AARP. Politically, AMAC runs circles around the liberal, jab-loving AARP leadership, arguing for conservative values and against SJW policies. Unfortunately, AMAC does not do business with our current Medicare Advantage carrier, and it's not likely that we will switch. The benefits available through AMAC are fewer than what AARP offers, but keep in mind that AARP lobbies for everything you're likely against. Both have low membership costs, and it may be advantageous to belong to both.

      My personal opinion.
Both AARP and AMAC suck big time. I'm glad I never had anything to do with either.
      YMMV <Grin>

Like SW, I needed AARP to get a good Medicare Supplement plan, but only for the first year. After this year I do not need to belong to AARP to keep the plan. The $16 membership was a waste of money but needed to waste it to get onto the plan.
