    its fort myer beach. it looks like the set of a post apocalyptic movie.

    I had to ho in Friday to access damages on site in town.
    loads of stalled cars....reminded me of a zombie movie.....
    Only thing funny was the amount of mon Florida tags on them.

        Do you think non-residents dropped everything and left it all behind, or did they not know enough about hurricanes to know they should leave?

          I've seen a lot of still photos of the damage, but this video really shows the extent of the destruction, up close and personal. It's so sad, but Floridians are resilient and I expect Ft. Myers Beach will be built back and likely to the newest (or upcoming) hurricane codes.

            Lower area near the river is flooded bad.
            lots of trees and debris. Biggest inconvenience is when there's no power. The lift station goes down. It's camp toilets and burn barrel time.lol.

              Hard to say.
              my work area i think got " surprised " by Ian...complacency imho. " it wont come here " was a common phrase 72 hrs out.
