Biden just helped millions of student loan debtors. So why are people mad?

You mean you give spoiled brats a bunch of stuff to placate them and they aren't forever happy after that?

If the gubmint is going to play "parents" to half of the country, they need to be smart parent's- not the dip$hits that let their out of control kids scream all the way through walmart while buying them off with toys and doing counting exercises.

There is no reconciliation folks, the divide will not be healed. It's important you understand that.

The great divide started in 2008, and has continued to expand into an untraversable expanse. The divide was intentional and it's expansion was well-executed. We are two camps that will never find common ground, so pick your camp and dig in - we're in for a rough ride.

As for this student loan gimme, I have no sympathy for those who pursued unmarketable degrees at exorbitant prices. I went to college, got a degree that allowed me to make a decent living, and paid off every penny of my student loans. I carefully considered my major to make sure I could find work I would enjoy in my chosen field. I took a lot of computer-related courses as electives, and eventually was able to turn that knowledge into a second career. Liberal arts degree? Gender studies degree? Worthless in my estimation, and a waste of financial assets and time. Want to target the source of that wasted money? Sue the college or university that allowed you to pursue a worthless degree - don't ask me to pay for your mistakes.

Some are crying that the $10-20K debt transfer wasn't enough, and some are crying that anything is too much. Those who went to trade school or apprenticed into a trade are crying that they shouldn't have to pay for someone else's foolish mistakes. That being the case, I would like to submit a bill I owe for that debt to be transferred to someone in this admin, preferably someone progressive. On a serious note, there is a substantial percentage of Americans who are behind in their utility bill payments due to braindead moves made starting 1/20/21. These are people who actually need help paying a debt, and who are owed by this gubmint for its stupidity. The only people who deserve a helping hand with college debt are those whose colleges closed their doors, leaving students high and dry with no degree but a ton of debt.
