Even taking the ignorant arse comments about Floyd aside (which points towards this moron being a liberal), check out this article.
What your seeing is the start of Round 2 of rebranding survivalism.
Round 1 was the 2007 era "preppers" who came on the scene absolutely sure they were THE FIRST to think about storing food, stockpiling items, etc. This is where you first saw the ridiculous ideas like handwarmers used as o2 absorbers and so many other skimp and cut corners approaches that were marginal at best, non working at worst.
What the 2007 era (error?) "preppers" forgot (for the most part, using a broad brush here folks) was that survivalism meant more than simply MAKING LISTS of stuff you were (likely never) going to buy or (likely never) going to do. Few understand that true survivalism also means LIFESTYLE CHANGES-
*Moving away from high population (which means high problems now and later) areas.
*Getting their families squared away- doing away with this mamsy pamsy sorry arse "if the wife LETS me" milk toast no family leadership BS and actually leading your family.
*Getting in shape- "learning to live on less" doesn't just mean money. Putting down the freeze dried Ho Hos and doing some PT.
*Starting and maintaining a REGULAR training regimen- Realizing that survival will often mean fighting and and being ready for that means REGULAR professional training and a LOT of practice.
*Learning to be RESPONSIBLE for yourself, your actions, your health, in short YOUR situation in life. This "little man can't get ahead" BS attitude is a losers attitude and NOT the attitude of a survivor. Stop the frickin whining and start actually WORKING towards better things in your life.
So the article seems to be a liberal ("crying" over the "saint" Floyd BS, really??) who has now woke up and found old school survivalism.
Hopefully this guy won't be promoted as another re-incarnation of Mel Tappan like some bad fiction author was when he simply took old concepts, called them after himself (always a humble thing to do right LOL) and became a lower case m messiah to new "preppers" who knew no better back in the early 2000's. Hopefully this jerk won't also name concepts some of us have been practicing for 30-40 years after himself also. Or hell, maybe this guy will understand how oxygen absorbers work unlike the first prepper "messiah" LOL.
God forbid we are starting Round 2 of re-branding of survivalism... Lord help us!
