I made a trip to a large chain grocery store last week as the actually had some can goods on sale. I overheard employees talking about the shipment that they were putting on the shelves. The company limited the store to 700 pieces per order, they ordered 700 but only received 300. They said that other stores in the area aren’t as lucky.

I'm seeing less product availability every time I go grocery shopping, although the stockers have gotten very good at spreading out 10 containers of the same product over an area that used to contain 10 unique products...

I know someone that owns an independant hardware store ---he orders weekly
If he gets more than 70% of what he orders he is lucky--some weeks it may be 60%
lead times for some items are measured in months
and the prices are rising at an alarming rate

I repair copiers and printers for a large regional dealer.. MOST of our parts come from China or Japan. We have pretty much stopped doing routine maintenance, which require parts kits, and are just doing what we can to keep the machines running. Some parts have been on order for weeks or months. Even toner is hard to get, because many toner cartridges have computer chips built into them, and the chips are in short supply.
