Amazon? Question for Elittle, others

IIRC it was Elittle that made a post months ago about Amazon (the company not the river ;) offering a let's just say "very inappropriate" electronic book.

Did anything ever get resolved with that?

I hear a lot of the AFR "alerts" about things like the Home DeSpot boycott, etc. but I hadn't heard about the Amazon thing.

Did they pull that garbage or otherwise "clean up their act?"

They did pull the "self published" garbage after much protest. And I see today that Polk county FL sent Deputies to Colorado and arrested the Author for selling them a copy over the internet. It will be interesting to see all. the ho-haw that place now about 1st amendment rights vs decency debate

They did pull the book that the guy was arrested for in the post by EX121, there were other books along the same school of thought and I don't know if they have cleaned up those too or not. IMO they don't deserve my money because they were negligent in screening these materials. Reminds me of the baby shaking app for the iPhone that came out and took them a couple of days to remove. http://downloadsquad.switched.com/20...ng-iphone-app/

They should have seen that some sicko would do something as an app and put it on their store. Unfortunately like my friend Dave says "Stupid is not illegal." So I vote with my wallet on places like this and don't buy from them. I am not an apple fan anyways so I wouldn't have bought something from them but I used to buy from Amazon, not any more and I doubt that I ever do again. If more people took a stand against this stuff we could change the market place to be proactive in protecting our children and us from this kind of crap.
