1- mylar seep/release less oxygen than plastic food saver style bags over time's normally considered LTS.
2- they do not let light/uv in
3- they are not as pourous as plastic bags. Not only in the O2 area, but also in smells, liquids etc over time. This is why even going just buckets is a no go for LTS
In other words.
They wont let half what a "plastic" bag will over time, to be simple about it.
