Just watched this movie. It was made in 1984 in the UK. It's kind of like The Day After but they don't pull any punches in this one. This one covers most of the basics of preparedness. Lots to ponder in this one. Thought someone might like this.

Man created shotguns because God created cats.

Man, those Muslims sure are worried about what they eat. I went over there and all I heard was Alohaaaaa Snack-bar.

Terrible movie. Just like The Day After this was set in one of the worst areas to try to survive a nuclear attack in. Their city was hit twice IIRC and their was also an RAF base about 7 miles away.

Wherein Day After's visual imagery focused on destroyed buildings, etc. Threads wasn't shy about showing half burnt children, plenty of corpses, etc.

The story follows a pregnant British Mum that is about the stupidest chick on the planet. She leaves the small safety of her cellar on Day 2 and wanders around in the fallout. Almost as stupid as Ben Arsefleck making snow angels in the fallout on "Sum of all fears."

Everytime I watch Threads (haven't now in a couple years), I go and buy more simple tools. Seeing some chick chew through an umbilical cord and trade "favors" for rats makes you want to cache more knives, magnesium fire starters, water filters and food.

I'm not saying don't watch the movie, but just understand that like "The Day After" it's PROPAGANDA from the left, the so called "disarmament" aka "peace" crowd.

              LMAO! It was awesome!

What was even more fun was fooling that "painted" ex friend and my nephew with it. "Oh man you won't want to watch it, it's REALLY slow for a long time, and then the raiders bust into town and all Hades breaks loose." (I baited them into watching 2 hours of a POS movie). The credits started to roll and I left the room laughing!

You'd have to be there and know the person I got with it. He's got adult ADD and can't sit still for more than about 20 minutes but likes Post apoc films. I BS'ed him and told him the movie was really good "at the end", but that he wouldn't be able to sit still and watch the lead up so forget it.

If someone had done that to me, I'd be looking for a "time refund." The movie is awful, with a capital "off." LOL

Now Glen and Randa, that's a different story, that's a GOOOD movie! ;)
