  • Take a news break!

This past weekend, in the mist of moving 3 homes, I went to Nashville to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel for the Christmas show.

I had paid for the trip several months ago and decided I needed a break. Along with 12 of my girlfriends, I had the best time I've had in a long time.

I had two surprises. Every single show or display had a Christ centered theme. Even the Santa Clause Ice sculptures. The last display was a nativity sculpture that dropped the jaw of everyone who saw it. The Louise Mandrell show was exclusively religious.

The Radio City Music Hall Rocketts had the most beautiful live nativity I have ever seen. EVER!

Seem the owners of Gaylord have established a Christ is Christmas theme and believe it or not, the place was packed with people!

The second thing was that between the shows, displays, shopping and late night girls' talk sessions, I never once saw the news. If the world had ended I'm assuming my husband would have called me (oops, I forgot about an EMP).

I returned home Monday morning with a joyous heart and a lighter spirit! I realized just how much the talking heads can drag down your spirit and attitude.

Give yourself a Christmas present, spend a few days not watching the news. It will lighten your step and raise you spirits!

I try to only get the main issues and then turn away from it, mostly cause they repeat repeat repeat repeat the same thing for 10 hours and call it breaking news.

I usually want the highlights and thats it, I don't want to dwell on the same thing all day long cause it does drag me down.

Glad you had a great time!!

        Great post!

Sometimes we stand there glancing over the railing looking down too much to miss the beautiful sunset just above us.
