Had an extensive talk with my 20yr old son at his request, who lives on his own, about the state of the economy and state of the country as a whole and who is beginning to see the value of preps, and told me that he had been storing food under his bed in totes, a little at a time, in his 1 bdr apt. I don't force the issue on my kids but they are aware. Good to see things stick eventually sometimes! He told me that him and his girlfriend got in an argument about wether they would go to her folks house or ours if SHTF. Her dad is a good guy, retired Air Force and seems to think properly but we haven't had enough "touchy feely" time to see where the other one is. She said: they kept more food on the shelves (she dunno about the preps, all she saw is the partial pantry as we were moving. My son and me moved the "Red Dawn" stuff by ourselves one night before our "friends" showed up to help so no, there wasn't alot at the time, hehe!) My son said to her: yep, just like last winter (he had to stay with them because that's as far as he could make it) your dad has a generator hooked to the house but no fuel. He said, I had to go back out in the winter storm before we lost power and get fuel. He said: Dad keeps fuel at the ready so he's better!
I'm so proud the buttons almost popped on my shirt, not because I'm better in his mind, I dunno if I am or not, but because them two are THINKING, woo hoo, thats a Dads true dream! There may be hope for the future yet!
Anyone else seen "the light come on"?

    Matt In Oklahoma,
That's good to hear. I have little children right now, but I tell ya, it's a very large responsiblity we have on our shoulders.

I'm the oldest of three, and really the only one that seems to see the reality of the situation we live in. It's crazy how so many wear prim rose glasses.

That's awesome. Maybe the families could get together?
