  • furniture stores in trouble.

on a youtube, a guy was talking about kahns (sp?) with 550 stores going out of business. i was sad, but none of those stores in my area.

then this weekend drove by some badcocks furniture stores. 3 of them all had closing and going out of business signs out front... those are in my area and i know the owner.
    sheesh...
so i get on here to post about furniture stores closing and check the badcocks web site. it looks like they are all going out of business. not just the ones near me.

    not a good sign.

It's worse when you consider most people FINANCE furniture.... If I had a guess, a whole helluva lot of Bubbas and Bubbetts are not making their payments on their $2000. mega sofa/diningtable/entertainment center with 180" plasma TV that they just "had to have."

Glad I listened to my grandpa.
He was managing the hotel in my town the day they closed the banks.
I've been doing everything he told me I should do.
Been doing it a long time but I think the time is rapidly approaching where doing it is going to have me in a much better position than most will be in the next couple of years.
Thinking, I am, this is not a depression coming but a wartime and we'll be learning how folks learned to live in Kosovo.

Yeah, Badcocks is closing here as well...Dollar General and Dollar Tree/Family Dollar are hurting and DT is closing some of their stores. Heard last night that DG has 20,000 stores and they are seeing a downturn. Their CEO says their clientele have incomes < $35K. So, where does a less than $35K person shop? When people get hungry they will do stupid stuff...

So many businesses that seemed positioned to last forever have fallen on hard times, or have just fallen. I don't get out much, but when I do I always see another storefront with a For Rent sign. It's very sad, not just for the businesses, but for all the locals who are losing alternatives to the big box stores.
