some folks think precious metals - normally referring to gold and silver are a good asset to invest in.
here are some results. below are prices tonight from sd bullion for gold and silver
    $1,928.60 $1,935.60 +2.76
    $23.54 $23.79 -0.24
some trades and pricing i saw at the show.
american 1 oz silver eagles. 30 to 40+ only saw one dealer at 30
silver rounds. buffalo were the most common. 26.50 and up to 28 was normal. one guy had a few he sold for 24.
    canadian maples 28 and up

90 % old silver coins -- folks wanted 20 x face.. could be had for 18x face.

gold 1 oz eagles. priced 2020 and up to 2100 per coin... saw a guy buy out a guys last 3 at 2000/coin.
not many people trading gold. 2000 deal means about a $70 premium.
halves and quarter oz were at a higher premium than 1 ounce.

i went on the second day.. it was busy. . many dealers advised day one was even busier and i frequently heard the sentence.
"yeah i had some of those gold and silver coins but sold them all early yesterday. i'm out of those."

one lady was there selling supplies, tubes, books, reference aids, and testing apparatus... she was doing a steady business. she had sigma testing equipment
she had the small sigma for 950.

Silver is at 23.22 (-0.36) today as I type this. I am expecting it to drop close to 20 and then make a race to the top sometime this year. I am not a financial guru so do not trust me and do your own research. The reason I am thinking this is upcoming WW's, and upcoming CBDC which looks like banks will start using sometime this summer. There are a lot of reasons, but those are my top two...

the perry show is about 4 times the size of albany.
which probably means the increased competition helps hold the prices down.

well, those spot prices sure haven't held.
              $1,873.47 $1,880.47 +11.81
              $22.39 $22.64
--these prices again come from sd bullion ... gold down about $50 and silver down a dollar

bullion coins bought at the show are probably 5% less right now!!

I still think Ag will drop closer to $20, but I may be wrong, but when it does get ready for a spike up....

an associate who follows coin/pm prices closely called this week....
associate has made money big, and lost money big in the years i've known him...
i always have to remind myself of the sentence above when we talk and as i relay the following. ..
                    --
he told me of a fellow who is selling some of his collection. gold was 1888 at the time. fellow has gold and silver.
                    way too big for me...
and i asked why associate wasn't making an offer for a big chunk of fellows holding.
associate responded. "gold is headed down. it's off 40 now and going down another 100. then will rebound big time. silver will go down similar. "
                    i asked why.
that started a long speech that lost me.
but i've watched gold since that call.
it went to 1890 momentarily, but has dropped each day and now, friday morning. 1873. maybe associate is right this time.

wow... my associate who predicted gold (and silver) was falling and would continue to fall...
                        was right...
my post above shows gold at 1928 and silver at 23.54

this morning gold is 1816 and silver 20.77
                        $1,809.53 $1,816.53 -4.31
                        $20.52 $20.77 +0.01

if i ever post something like. "guys this is a great time to buy some silver rounds" you should probably sell all you have!!

You cannot predict the bottom or top, but I am not sure silver will get much lower (maybe a buck or so?)...but it all is manipulated to some degree...when the hammer falls, I believe that is when the PMs will jump up fast

i travelled to the albany ga coin show. dealers from florida, alabama, georgia and ?
most of these dealers were of the collector variety. large number of a coin, date, quality .
most did not have volume in any one coin or round. lots of folks brought in coins to sell.
at first that surprised me, but with all items (groceries, fuel, etc) climbing in price, selling a handful of old dime as a quick
way to put several hundred dollars in your hands.
example. 100 dimes = 10$ "face value" could net someone $160.00 to 200.00 pretty quickly.

very few guys had silver rounds or tubes of silver eagles/ maples etc... and those who had them wanted 37 each for eagles.

                              I agree on the manipulation.

Interest rates rising, shouldn't that essentially cause an uptick in PM prices?
