    Flashlight Holds
Having been in a lot of different training for work as well as Personal Research Development Techniques (aka: watching TV and reading gunporn magazines) there are several flashlight holding techniques that have been presented and touted as the best. IMO they all have strengths and weakness. Some are better at one corner or another and some are better at shooting from under the cover/concealment and some are better if things go wrong and you end up fighting hand to hand or using weapons retention techniques. This is not meant to be an all-inclusive training guideline but more of a thought and practice primer to motivate you to make sure you are ready when the worst day of your life happens.

Is good for one side of corners and is strong for hand to hand fighting as you have a strong grip and the hands come apart easily to defend or attack with and both hands have a weapon.

Works well with the other side of corners but with extra limb exposure and the light can be elevated well above and away from your head to confuse the attacker as to you exact location. It also works well for hand to hand combat as both hands are already separated, making them harder to control, and both retain a weapon.

This hold works well on both corners but is the weakest if attacked and the flashlight can be dropped from the weakened grip technique.

These holds are all good and versatile but must be practiced to a point where you no longer think about what to use when you approach angles or utilize cover/concealment. The time for that is now. You can shoot holding a flashlight at almost all ranges. It might be too bright to actually see the light but it shouldn
