I am updating my S&W 1500 in 30-06. I bought it new 33 years ago and put a Leupold 4X scope on it. I've taken all of my big game as well as a couple of hapless jack rabbits with it. The set up has been very good to me over the years but the stock is showing a lot of wear and I didn't need to wear glasses when I put the scope on it.
I am considering putting it in a Bell & Carlson Medalist stock so I can float the barrel and topping it off with a new 3-9X variable scope.
I have read good things about the Bell & Carlson stocks but I am wondering if they are worth the additional expense.
Any advice, suggestions, opinions and reviews on the stock & scopes would be greatly appreciated.
