The shotgun is what is in the truck. My standard camo hunting vest holds 32 rounds in loops (the big front pockets have 2 rows of 6 each inside each pocket, plus 4 exposed on each breast), the shotgun hold 8+1, the stock sleeve holds 5 more. I have 2 repacked boxes that no longer hold 71/2s. One is slugs, one is buckshot. That's 50 rounds. In a pinch if I have to leave the truck, the boxes either go in the game bag or the BOB. The BOB has 2 standard ALICE mag pouches with 36 rounds each. I think it's almost overkill.

Since my plan is to bugout in trucks well before mayhem ensues, our packs are heavy as crap. IF we have to bugout on foot...well thats a whole new ball game.

I think that if I'm bugging out weight is an issue and will have to leave the shot gun behind...aint my primary weapon anyway. having said that it is the one behind the seat in my truck. IMO it makes a great get home gun. my rounds are in a ghb and on a blackhawk sling.

I've got an old set of web gear like I used in the Army set up with an ammo pouch to carry shotshells on the left side just behind the pouch for my AR magazines. if I don't have the shotty with me it can be used for something else.

SOE Gear shotgun chestrig seems worthwhile if you are using a shotgun as a primary. The Wally world shotshell belts work well so long as you don't need the space on the belt line for other items.

I like the Blackhawk Strike system. I have the uncle mike carrier for the butt stock which is good but can be a booger to shoot weak side, the http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/3-1920318 and another pouch no longer made by them. I cant say enough about sidesaddles which come in all different sizes and camo patterns etc. They are on all my shotguns
We have belts which are sold at wallieworld too

FMCO has 48- and 96-round M10 vests, 48- and 72-round M5 vests, or individual 12-round pouches in MOLLE and ALICE attachment styles.

M10 Vests: (down 3/4 or so) http://www.antipersonnel.net/fmco/003.html#5 I plan on getting the 48-round.

    M5 vests: (about 1/2 way down) http://www.antipersonnel.net/fmco/001.html

Pouches: (right near the top) http://www.antipersonnel.net/fmco/005.html

I have an M10 for my PTR-91 in production. And will order the 48-round M10 for my shotgun when I get the money.T

hey make each item to order so the lead time can be a while.

    Hope this helps.

There are many options available. Bandoliers, shell belts, etc.
Try Midway USA. They give great service.
