Finally finished my build of my M14 in 7.62x51 using a Springfield Armory receiver and a 1962 Harrington & Richardson M14 kit I purchased about 6 months ago.
Borrowed the receiver wrench from a friend and installed the barrel and ordered the last few little springs and pins.
Took it to the range and the first shots were centered and about 1 inch high at 50 yards.
Taking it to get zeroed and sighted in later this week.
I bought a 200 round battle pak of Hirtenberger ammo from Austria and and three 20 round boxes of Venezuelan ammo, both in 147 grain military surplus.
I have been looking at scope mounts and scopes to better be able to use the longer range of this rifle, opting to use my M4 in 5.56x45 for closer uses.
Think I will enjoy shooting this rifle a lot.
