Been a heck of a year, lots of ups and downs.
After 20+ years with the old website software, the old website software was "retired" and we had to build a new website from scratch. Several issues with hosting and service providers including some supposedly "pro freedom" ones that ended up being anything but.
Thanks to having a very large inventory of Night Vision tubes, we were able to keep prices down this year on completed Night Vision devices. As we started warning people near the end of 2022, all of the NV tube manufacturers raised prices on tubes, some very substantially. One grade of WP 3rd gen tubes went up in price $700. per tube. A $700. INCREASE in the wholesale cost of a single tube. And this was for quantities of 300 or more. As the night vision tube is 90% of the cost of a complete device, this will greatly increase costs of completed NV devices.
We were able to stave off these price increases in the short term by having and maintaining a very large quantity of tubes on hand. Our tube inventory this year averaged about 500 tubes regularly, with 50 or so completed devices always on the shelf ready to ship. A far cry from years ago when people were having to wait 12-20 weeks to get a completed NV device! But like the saying says- "all good things must come to an end."
The tubes we have that were purchased at the previous tube contract prices (in other words, at the lower price) are just about gone. We expect with the increase in sales from the Israeli war and world events, coupled with our normal Black Friday/ Holiday sales volume, that we will be out of tubes by little after the first of year. That's just an estimate and it could be sooner or later. This summer was very slow and that along with still receiving tubes regularly, helped inventory remain high. All that has changed and demand is very high again- most especially for IN STOCK units that are ready to ship and have the old prices on them.
We will begin our Black Friday/Holiday sales Wednesday November 1st. There is no need to wait till actual Black Friday, we start these sales early so you have time to act. That being said, it is the smartest option to purchase early while there is a large "pool" of units to pick from.
Couple things to note-
1. We are running old skewl prices still. Therefore we will not be offering any additional special offers, you can't find a coupon code from 1997, a free ship offer from some 500 year old video, etc. etc. and tag all those on. Be realistic please. We price check too, and we have better graded tube units in stock for better prices than others.. We know this.
2. Don't be a PITA- I'm getting a little jaded after 31 years of doing this so I'm going to be blunt about this- try not to be a PITA if you call. Demanding more, asking for further discounts (see above the 1997 dated coupon code, etc.) etc. And please guys, if the phone lines are busy (which they always are during a sale) I don't need to hear a list of things you bought from us 400 years ago, just tell us your a repeat customer. Also, if you expect us to remember you from a previous order, we need a full name, just saying "this is Jim" and getting pissed cause I don't remember you from your last order which was literally 4 years ago is simply juvenile folks. Yes, dealing with the public you do get these RARE instances of odd people, they are rare but unfortunately they taint everything.
3. Understand you may have to hold if the phone lines are busy. Don't be a PITA about that. I had one guy a few years back call on actual Black Friday, I was balancing several calls already. But he was a friend of someone who bought 1 or 2 things from us years ago and therefore he thought he was super special. He absolutely refused to hold 2 minutes OK, that's fine, call back at a reasonable time or leave your number and we will call back as soon as phone lines open up. Seriously, we are 3 people doing the work of 12
4. The website has changed. It changed to new software this summer. Several important changes that we note on the site-
A. Your card is now charged immediately upon ordering when using the new website. Every website on the planet operates like that now, we had one of the last ones that didn't..
B. Because of the above, it's important you know critical info like the actual BILLING ADDRESS for your credit card. If you put in an incorrect billing address you will get a decline.
C. If your using a DEBIT card to order, just call the order in. Your probably not aware of the daily transaction limit that most debit cards have and if you get a decline on the website with a debit card, it's likely because of that. It's not "the website", it's your card. Read the FAQs on the website where we cover all this.
BE SURE you are signed up for the email blasts, top of the page at the JRH Enterprises website under "Sales alerts." Also, we will be dropping some sales and discount codes on our Instagram page-
We reserve the right to end ANY sale at ANY time during this time period for ANY reason. World events are making things really sketchy, inventory is changing rapidly.
