Anyone given thought to post SHTF and searching people who you may come into contact with? Avoidance of all outsiders I don't think is a probability.
I recently picked up a garrett metal hand held detector to assist provided the EMP doesn't get it.
Protective clothing may be needed for disease and sickness in the forms of facemasks and gloves and maybe even full clothing. Overwatch for whoever is searching is needed and the overwatch will need proper cover, distance and angles to engage the subject without engaging the friendly. A area away from the main organization is where this needs to be conducted.
Communication is key during a search, if you find anything vocalize it. You need to know what to do if you do find something or if a moveis made on you: run, fight, shoot, tie up or whatever. if you go into jujitsu your overwatch cannot help you.
What kind of search are you willing to do or is needed in each situation, visual, pat down, strip, metal detection.
A proper search begins at the top and works the way down. You need to not be in the center of the person being searched so that they are easily able to strike. Stand at angles and preferably behind them. The hands, elbows and feet are to be watched. Muscle tension needs to be monitored follow your gut always. Time is not to be rushed as a inproper search can lead to death of everyone. The quick TV cop patdowns are laughable and an AK47 could be snuck in easily. Anyway just some thoughts. I'd like to hear your plans or thoughts to make sure I have not left any gaps.
