i just watched one last night a repeat of this season. dunno which episode.
It was this couple who..
dont have any cash savings.
But have 1300+ days of food, guns ,ammo, gold, silver, barter items, solar/ae system etc etc etc.
but live in a smallish looking house on the corner of two 4 lane roads whiskeytango foxtrot over.
needless to say the guy looked like he could double for some of t he cast from the munsters.
anyway.
how much debt do these folks rack up. the guy has all this stuff..yet lives in a urban area. To bug out to a safe spot he plans to bury a conex in the small back yard? again tango foxtrot ..
but he barters ..ahhh..thats how he'll live with his wife and kid, and 200 bearded dragons they raise for money on the side, along with an adult online store...my head about exploded.
where do they find these retards. I mean if y ou got the funds to buy/barter for all this stuff,,why wont you relocate if you want to survive.. i dont get it...
oh and whats funny to mke more money they started an online prep store..
go figure.....

aaawwww man! All this money I've wasted on prepping and I've only got a few weeks to live? It figures that when my ship comes in I'd be at the train station!Originally posted by WiseOwl View PostWhen the sun goes down on the solstice on dec 21st Mayans are going to fly out of the sky and kill everyone with thunderbolts and spears

My family always gives me a hard time because I usually wait until Christmas Eve to do alot of my shopping... THIS YEAR I'm gonna be the smart one by waiting!

We watched episode 3 last night and were impressed with the Mays...the ones who own the car radio shop. Rcouple had done some impressive prepping! I am not a tech savvy guy or "Mr. fix everything" but I like what this guy did with his alternative power by hooking up solar panels and a small wind turbine to power the batteries which I assume he hooked up to his breaker box?

Go back and read some of the early posts here related to this "show" by 1admin and Lowdown3. Said years ago they would not portray things in a good light. Only 1 or 2 of the "preppers" featured so far have been doing it for any real length of time (i.e, more than 10 years).Originally posted by PatriotFlamethrower View PostHave had a conversation with one of the preppers featured in season one, and found out some interesting "stuff" about the producers of "Doomsday Preppers", and how they operate:
1. The preppers who are featured in the shows DO NOT GET PAID anything for their time.
2. The producers are always looking to "sensationalize" what these preppers are doing.
3. The producers basic "goal" is to portray the preppers as a bunch of nutcases, by twisting what they say and do, and by manipulating the film footage.
4. The preppers themselves are very sincere, and are serious about what they are doing. The producers of the show are playing a constant game of "gotcha" and consider the whole thing to be a "freak" show.
And I don't know what "Mr.X" got paid or supposedly didn't get paid, but the offer was $2K at one point.
Sometimes no $$ amount if worth it.
