I had several thoughts on this. #1 I applaud them for doing something and trying
#2 the guy has never had anything bad happen to him because he experienced an adrenaline dump and vomited from it. I've been there but under much worse conditions. Hows he gonna react when little johnny there gets smoked off because he is openly exposed on the front porch. He will crumble
#3 The fact they they did almost fall apart shows several things too, like he isnt qualified to be teaching, they arent tight as a family first survivalist second and that neither understands that plastic and nylon webbing arent bulletproof!

Watching evidently a re-run now. The kid Jason reminds me of myself 26 years ago.....

The guy prepping for the Yellowstone deal Jeff, (leather jacket, looks a little bit like Protus ) is the quentissential current "prepper"- "I have no money for prepping and have to do things cheap"- then you see the high dollar sports car in the driveway and he's wasting money buying an auction of a storage locker.... "Oh but we got some first aid supplies"- that you have no fricking idea who did what to them!!

Then their is the wife of the dude in SLC who is mocking him off camera.... And still some people don't understand when I stress the importance of having your family on board... "But like I humored him and told him I'd do this if he took me to an expensive dinner and lavished money on me next week." WTF PEOPLE!!!

Did have the opportunity to talk to one of the preppers from the show. You may remember him. Leather fringe jacket...eatting mainly off the land, cooking road kill and teaching his kids to use tomahawks to fight with. He shared how the producers really pushed him to say things that didn't make sense or were really off from the truth of what they were doing. Why he went on the show in the first place is beyond me and...why he didn't tell them to get the heck off his property once they pulled the twisting of his intent is another thing. He was from the Augusta, Maine area. That was on the show so no revealing confidential information. Why the heck would anyone advertise their survivalist way of life? Have to be a little nuts.

In another recent episode they finally let someone say they weren't preparing for 1 specific thing. The guy said he was preparing for the "Unexpected", I about fell over that they let him say that instead of the usual "I am preparing for Zombie Space Aliens" type of thing they want them to say.
