Small Business Saturday!
Folks,
Today is SBS! Please go about and support your local small businesses. Remember, this is the middle class that Obama is destroying. Even though we should do this everyday, which a good chunk of us do, show these folks some support today. Instead of eating a fast food joint or a chain spot like Applebees or Longhorns, eat at a local place. Instead of going to China Mart or KMart, buy your food from a local farmers market or meat shop and buy your clothes and other goods from small shops. Going Christmas Tree shopping today? Go buy it at the Farmers Market from the man who grows it, not from Lowes or Home Depot. (Shoutout to Young Bros. from Franklin N.C., got our tree from them yesterday and they are good folks with good deals. Loved talking with this family and supporting their business). Buying toys for your kids or family? Make some homemade gifts or buy them from a shop that makes their own. Too much lead in the toy department. This is something that me and my wife have been doing. She is always on www.pinterest.com and they have a ton of ideas for homeade toys and gifts! My son loves his homeade fishing pole! If you are looking to buy some preps this weekend, go to JRH's (site sponsor) store and purchase from him instead of going to Academy or Dicks or Tacticool R Us. Buying that new couch? Go to a local company that makes their own. Forget rooms to go. (Even if you get a new flatscreen in the deal). Want to buy some music today, purchase from a local artist or go see one in concert instead of your national or "commercialized" acts. If you are going to buy some beer today, buy from your local brewery (Jailhouse in Hampton,Ga is AWESOME!) Gotta get your oil changed or car worked on? Go to a local shop or do it yourself with materials bought from a local parts store. Dont go to a national chain shop because they have rules to rip you off, always.
If there is one day out of the year to support your small businesses, today is the "day". We as Americans are so caught up in The Kardashians, iPhones, New Cars that our own greed, stupidity, ignorance and laziness have blinded The American Spirit. We did a lot of our local shopping yesterday, so today I will be cutting more wood and watching UGA/GTech and enjoying some leftover fried turkey with my family.
